Hello everybody! I am trying to raise money to go to a missions school in Africa next year after I graduate. I’ve had a heart for missions, specifically Africa, and this would be a phenomenal opportunity! Care to support me? Check it out!
When we allow man to satisfy and fix what God’s supposed to fix, that’s when we are in trouble. Because, in reality it’s only a band-aid that will come off in the shower, when we need stitches that only God give us.
Our generation is caught up in the whole concept of “I’m gonna get mine,” or “Sure, I’ll do that, but… what’s in it for me?” We are willing, but only if we will get something in return.
So often we also hold the concept of… If I live for Christ, I’m gonna have to suffer. Life is going to be hell. Why is it even worth it? To be honest, yes, when you give your life over to Christ it is definitely not easy. You are a fish swimming against the stream, or a person going against the grain as some might say. If your walk with Christ is a breeze, you better re-evaluate and look at the way you’re living. The fact of the matter is that God loves us, and yeah our concept of love is screwed, but we were made to be truly loved, and so we know the jist of it. If someone loves you, they are looking out for your best interest. Right? That’s the same with God. He LOVES us. Like, for reals, no lies, no jokes. He does! And the Bible says that He wants us to have abundant life, not mundane life, not the life in hell… ABUNDANT LIFE. He’s real about that, and He’s looking out for us. I mean think about it. Would He go through all that—Sending His ONLY Son to die on the cross if He didn’t care about us, and didn’t have our best interest in mind? I don’t think so. I sure wouldn’t die for someone that I didn’t care about. Would you?
Anyway, back to the point… what’s in it for me? This is a hidden motive for a lot of us a lot of the time, because well we want to know that our sacrifice means something and the truth is, it does. God loves us, and rewards us when we are obedient. He understands us and the sacrifice that it took for us to do whatever we did and He wants to return the favor, and He will. When you step out and do what God says, it may look sketch on the outside, but in reality God’s looking to use what you did to shift HISTORY. All because you were obedient. Plot Summary: Be obedient and you will be rewarded, even if it doesn’t look that way. Just take a step of faith ;)
“It may take place in a foreign land or it may take place in your backyard, but I believe that we were each created to change the world for someone. To serve someone. To love someone the way Christ first loved us, to spread His light. This is the dream, and it is possible.”—Katie J. Davis
We were created to love and be loved. To be cherished, treasured, and accepted. To have purpose and a meaning in this life. To make a difference. To be used for good. To change and be changed.
No wonder we run around searching for where we belong.
"Love- it is a small four-letter word that will cost you everything: laying down your life, passion and compassion, giving without expecting, feeling His very heartbeat and surrendering to His rhythm, and following the Lamb wherever He goes, even to Mozambique."
